Support engineer, track testing group

In order to better support its customers, the company is now looking to recruit dedicated support staff to provide high quality support and customer training. The support team would be provided with training and mentoring to enable them to develop a thorough understanding of the products and how to provide support and training.

The support engineers will be responsible for:

- Fielding support requests from customers via email and telephone, providing assistance and debug
advice, liaising with experienced engineers within the company when necessary
- Providing training to customers on the use of new robots. This could be at the company's headquarters
in Wiltshire and also at customer proving grounds worldwide
- Testing new driving robot software releases

- Confident and effective communicator
- Good level of written and oral English
- Ability to build a rapport with others
- Willingness to travel
- A technical background which could be a degree or an HND in a relevant technical area such as
automotive or engineering

Desirable attributes:
- Experience in dealing with customers
- Fluency in additional languages

Senior Software Developer - Vehicle Driving Simulator focused

AB Dynamics is looking to recruit a software developer to help develop software for the advanced Vehicle Driving Simulator (aVDS). This is an exciting new product development by AB Dynamics who are working in partnership with Williams Advanced Engineering (WAE), to commercialise proven simulator technology originally developed for the Formula 1 application.

The successful applicant will work in the Laboratory and Track Software department reporting to the Chief Software Engineer. Their duties will focus on the development of the product's human machine interface and the real-time controller systems. We are looking for someone with the flair to design and create a slick new HMI from an early stage using modern technologies.

The successful candidate will:
Be a dynamic self-starter with about 3 years' or more experience in a programming role and preferably in an Engineering environment.
Be competent in C#, WPF, MVVM (knowledge of C would be an advantage). On the job training will be given for any proprietary languages as required.
Have experience of UI/UX design for Windows Desktop applications, preferably for interaction with machinery.
Be experienced with all aspects of the development cycle (requirements, specification, development, debug, testing, release, deployment).
Be able to assist Project Engineers to commission, install and support systems, as required. This could involve remote debugging, problem solving, and issuing rapid solutions.
Be willing to undertake a small amount of international travel to customer sites if required.
Have customer facing skills (opportunity to assist in demonstrations to potential customers).
Experience of driving would be beneficial (to assist in debug of simulator software) as would a driving license.

Electrical/Electronics Technician

We are looking for electrical assembly technicians to expand our team in the manufacture of small runs of high quality, hand built test equipment.

A high level of soldering, wiring and cable assembly skills is essential, with the ability to understand electrical schematic drawings and to work with minimal supervision. Familiarity with Word, Excel and AutoCad would also be advantageous.

We would expect the successful candidate to possess the following skills, attributes and qualifications:

Competent using electrical and mechanical drawings
Have a good understanding of engineering fault finding techniques
Happy to work under minimal supervision whilst using their own initiative and engineering abilities
Mechanical dexterity

Minimum qualifications:
NVQ Level 3 in an engineering discipline
5 GCSE grades A-C, including Maths, English and Science
